Miracles Do Happen!!

I know I know it's a miracle I am FINALLY posting something new. After I got home from Brazil, I just didn't have the motivation or time to spend on my blog (or anyone elses). I know it's no excuse.....but I am back!! The last two months I was working double duty. In the mornings I worked and my current job PCB-Solutions and then at night I would work at FedEx like always. It turns out I have a lot less energy and don't stay up as late as I used to when I have to be at work early EVERY day. On top of that I was also put in the Young Womens as a Beehive Advisor.....thanks to my mom who is now the YW President. I am happy to say that I am down to just one job now!!! For those of you interested in my new job, it is kinda hard to explain what we do and what I do. I would just suggest you check out our website if you really care pcb-solutions.net. As of today I guess my title would be customer support, but it changes all of the time. I am sorta inside sales/customer service. We are a small, but growing company so things are constantly changing. People are always asking me if I like my new job and the answer is YES. I do miss my old co-workers, but I love getting off early. Right now we are a little slower because it's the end of the year and let's face it the economy sucks. I know we will pick up and in the meantime I can sit and blog when I am bored at work.....right? One thing that I love about my new job is the flexibility and the people. When I was hired at PCB it turned out that I already knew the person I would be working the closest with. His name is Brenn Hill. We had a couple of classes together at WSU. I also know his wife and her family because they are good ole' Roy High Alumini. He is such an awesome guy and is going through a really hard time right now. His youngest boy had a massive brain tumor removed a little over a month ago. His son Briggs has been such a fighter and has battled so many obstacles to be where he is right now. Briggs started his chemotherapy at Primary Childrens yesterday. I ask for you to pray for him in beating his cancer. Although I have yet to meet Briggs, I feel like I know him already from all of the wonderful stories Brenn tells me about him. Here is a link to Briggs website for anyone who is interested in keeping up with his progress http://www.carepages.com/carepages/briggshill

It's GOOD to be HOME!!

So I am finally back after 24 hrs of traveling yesterday.  It started with a flight from Brazil to Washington D.C. at 9PM Saturday night and ended with a flight from LAX to SLC at 540 PM Sunday night.  I don't know if any of you have ever flown standby but it is VERY stressful!!! Nothing is guaranteed.  You never know if your gonna get on the flight until the last minute and if you don't make it then all of your plans are screwed.  We encountered this when we were trying to get to Sao Paulo. We were trying for a flight that had over 100 open seats so we weren't nervous at all about making the flight.  We were soooo wrong.  Apparently because there wasn't many passengers on the plane they decided to put a bunch of cargo on instead and so they put a weight restriction on the flight and we didn't get on.  It was a blessing in disguise though because then we were able to spend the night in a comfy bed at the Marriott and do some sightseeing the next day.  Thankfully were able to get on the flights we really needed to like the one from Brazil back to the US.  Everything else we just had to make it work and improvise a little.  Our plans were to go through Denver and arrive in Utah at 130 PM but ended having to stop in LA instead and got home at 830 PM.  Needless to say even though getting to and from Brazil was a stressful nightmare it was totally worth it and I'd do it again........just not anytime soon!!!  I had a wonderful time in Brazil and it was such an eye opening experience.  I will always remember the people I met and how gracious and kind they were.  Even though didn't have a lot they still offered us what they had.  Now that I am done venting about traveling I will get to work on posting some of my pictures so you can see how crazy Brazil is.  I give you props Jess for living there for 18 months.  I don't think I would have survived.

1.       I am obsessed with sports.  It actually is more like an addiction, but I truly can’t get enough.  Whether it’s the Olympics or professional sports it doesn’t matter.  I am fortunate to have the baseball and football package at my house so I never have to miss a Yankee or Raiders game.  In the event that I do have plans when they are on I have my trusty phone to keep me updated to the minute.  I usually watch Sports Center at least twice a day and check ESPN’s website daily because you never know when someone gets traded and injured and I have to keep up on that stuff.

2.       I love scary movies.  This is something that me and Jessica definitely don’t have in common!!! She hates them, but luckily I have a good friend Lori that loves them as much as I do.  I am always over at her housing watching the latest horror movie.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a slasher flick, ghost story, or zombie movie.  I love them all.

3.      I am the worst at telling time.  Jessica and I have had some issues with this in the past and so now I just don’t even wear a watch.  When I used to wear one it was strictly for fashion…..it usually didn’t even have the right time anyways.  If by chance I had set it to current time and someone asked what the time was I would just hold up my watch and let them figure it out because I wasn’t about to do it.  Thank goodness for cell phones.

4.      I love new music.  I am always getting new music from other people or trading cd’s with them.  I like to make people cd mixes and imixes.  I put a lot of time an effort into my mixes.  I don’t just throw a bunch of stuff on there.  I really think about where I want each song to go.  If you have been my friend for more than a couple of years I am sure that you have at least one of my mixes in your possession.

5.      I like to watch movies on Closed Captioning. When I used to have a room next to my parents they were always yelling at me to turn down my t.v. so I started watching it on CC and it just kinda stuck.  For the most part I will watch it without, but if I’m having a hard time understanding what a person is saying I will just turn on the CC and the problem is solved.

6.      I have no sense of direction.  I know my left and right (unlike Jodi), but I haven’t quite figured out the whole North, South, East, West thing.  Looking at a map I can figure it out because up is always North and so forth.  But when I am in a situation with no map, I tend to struggle.  My family all make fun of me because whatever direction I am heading I say is North.  I know it’s not right I just haven’t quite trained myself how to do it correctly.  Even with the mountains!!

My home away from home!

Considering that I have been to California 3 times this year I am officially calling it my home away from home. I love everything about Cali. The weather is always perfect and they have so many things you can do there. For this trip the highlight was going to watch the Yankees play in Anaheim....it was also the reason or I could say our excuse to go. We arrived on Thursday and came home on Monday. I had a great time hanging out with family and entertaining my cousins boy Tristan. Since my aunt and uncle live in Thousand Oaks we decided to get a hotel for one night in Anaheim. I was glad my aunt came up with the idea cuz it took us over 2 hours to get there. They had the freeway closed down for a funeral or something. Traffic would be my only complaint with California.....it is way to crowed and takes forever to get anywhere. Once we got to Anaheim we went to this place Dave & Busters that I love. It is kinda like a high class Chucky Cheese. We ate our lunch then played games forever until we could check in at the hotel. That night we went to the game. Angel stadium is a really nice and our seats turned out great. The only bad part of the night was the Yanks lost, but other than that it was awesome. They had the coolest fireworks I have ever seen after the game. The next day we got up early(for me) and headed over to California Adventures. Some of my family had never been there so they enjoyed that. Plus they had a new ride since the last time I went and it was fun. After we went on most of the rides there we headed over to Disneyland. I was very surprised that it wasn't more crowed especially since it was a Saturday. The longest we waited was 40 minutes for Space Mountain, which is nothing compared to the 90 minutes I have waited previously. We just relaxed the next day watching the Olympics and had some ice cream and cake for Scott's bday. My aunt made her famous chocolate cake which everybody loved yet again. On Monday we met up with my cousin Aimee who had been in Maui all week. Ya I know I'm jealous too!! We went to this place in Malibu that Scott loves for his bday and I had some yummy pizza. We got back to their house in just enough time for Scott to shove in another piece of cake and leave. Once we got on the freeway it gave us about 1 hour before our flight. Needless to say I was kinda freaking. We had to still return our rental car plus check in. Everything worked out in our favor though. Luckily the flight was delayed or else we would've been spending the night in Cali. one more night. Which of course I wouldn't have mind......but my work probably would have.

Happy Birthday Scott!!

Fun on the 24th

Me and the fam went to the rodeo last Wednesday.  My friend Jess came along too because Jim had to go out of town on business so we had an extra ticket. I hadn't been in awhile.....but not much had changed.  It was still really crowded and there were a ton of interesting people to watch.  One person me and Jess were keeping an eye on was this hot guy that was helping out at the rodeo.  He was there to help wrangle up the bulls and horses after the riders had fallen off.  We had front row seats so we had a pretty good view of him and dang he was good looking.  I usually don't go for cowboys or think they are really hot, but I would've made an exception for this guy.  Justin and Erin had a lot of fun at the rodeo too, but it had nothing to do with the animals.  Justin just liked to dance every time a song would come on and Erin was pretending to style mine and Jess's hair.  I guess afterwards they were able to both sit on a horse because of someone Ryan knew.  Erin said her favorite part was riding a horse! I thought that was pretty funny.  The next day I slept in, because I hardly ever get to LOL. We then got the gang back together and headed up to the Fish Farm in No. Ogden.  Other than it being ridiculously hot we had a good time.  Justin did  a good job and even caught a fish all by himself without falling in.  I was just glad that Scott was gracious enough to take the hook out of all the fish I caught, because I DO NOT like to touch the fish.  Everyone came over that night and we cooked the fish and it was delish.  For dessert we cooked smores over our charcoal grill and then did some fireworks.  It was a fun couple of days and I definitely wasn't looking forward to going back to work on Friday!!!

Checking it off the list.

One of my goals for 2008 was to FINALLY use my passport.  I have had it for over a year and I'm sad to say I have yet to use it.  Well things are about to change.  Luckily I have a good friend Jess that served her mission to a foreign country and she just happens to be going back to visit.  I wasn't about to miss my opportunity to finally bust out my passport so I sorta invited myself along.  We will be going to Sao Paulo, Brazil for ten days in September and I can't wait.  The only thing holding me back is that I have to get a visa.  I am probably like most people when I didn't realize I would need one.  It's just a good thing Jess knows what she is doing and has been there before.  It kinda sucks though because it's like 200 bucks......but it will be well worth it.  I have to pay 140 to the consulate to get my visa, but because you can't just mail it in like a passport I have to pay another 55 bucks so someone can physically go to L.A. and turn it in for me and pick it up.  I am just glad they have these services because $55 dollars is a lot cheaper than and airplane ticket.  I will be in L.A next month but unfortunately the only time you can pickup the passport from there is a Tues. or Thurs. from 12-1 pm, crazy huh?  Wish me luck with the whole visa thing, I will keep you updated on if I get accepted or not.  I thought I would post a couple of pics of some of the beaches we are wanting to visit.

Looks pretty sweet huh? I will admit I've been wanting to go to Europe forever, but I think South America has a lot to offer.  The best part is our dollar is more than their money (unlike Europe) so we can get a beach house in this city for like sixty bucks a night and that is split 3 ways!!! I don't think the motel in Roy is as cheap as that!

These are a few of my favorite things.

I have recently discovered (or rediscovered in some cases) things in the last couple of months ranging from new food to music.  I decided to name a few of my favorite things I have been doing instead of blogging......sorry unfortunately I am still a slacker and with the good weather we've had lately I'm not behind the computer as much......anyways here is the list.

Badminton- I bought a sweet set at Wal-Mart and me and my friends (Pej) can't get enough.
Wendy's spicy chicken sandwiches....they are definitely spicy but really good.
Lupe Fiasco- After seeing him in concert I can't get enough of his new Cd "The Cool" for those of you still into hip hop I highly recommend it.
Papa Murphy's Take n Bake- I use to think is was a hassle to have to cook it yourself but I prefer their sauces and ingredients.  My favs are the Gourmet Vegetarian w/o tomatoes and onions and the Mediterranean.
Reading!!!! I used to never read in fact I can probably count on one hand how many books I had read (all the way through) in the last 5 years until "Twilight". I owe this book and the ones that followed a lot of credit for getting me to read again.  Since finishing the first 3 books I have read 4 more.  I'm definitely not a speed reader but I stay up all hours of the night so I can read for hours on end and usually finish them within a week. So far the best book I have read besides the Twilight series is "My Sister's Keeper". It is a tear jerker but a pretty interesting story.
Rob & Big reruns- Since the show is officially over now I am getting caught up on all of the great fun and adventures that Rob & Big had.  I used to watch the show occasionally but now that my bro has been recording them I watch them all the time and laugh my butt off every episode.  I know some people have been watching them from the start like my friend Jodi, but I am just glad its on MTV so I know I can catch them all in reruns.
Blackberry- I am starting to wonder how I ever survived without it!!
Another artist I have constantly been listening to on repeat is Sia. The whole Cd is really good but one song I can't get enough of is called "Little Black Sandals" it's on her Some People Have Real Problems album so check it out if you have the time. Thanks again Aimee for the Cd.
Racketball- I used to play this back in the day and until recently I hadn't played in years.  Me and a couple of friends started playing again at Golds in Ogden.  If any of you play let me know and you can get in on the fun....that is if you don't mind a few curse words now and then!!
I noticed my list is getting long so I will end with a website my cousin Aimee also hooked me up with it's called Sidestep.com.   For all of you travelers out there it is a really convenient site. You can go there and check out airfare, hotel, cruises, etc. and it searches for it on a ton of different websites to tell you where to go to get the best deal.  They also send you weekly emails to keep you updated whenever there is a good travel deal going on.
I hope you guys will check out some of my favorite stuff.....let me know what you think of about any of it if you agree or disagree.

Summer is finally here!!!

                               The Gang

To celebrate the beginning of summer I decided to have a little BBQ at my house.  It was a small gathering of friends so it was really fun.  A couple of my friends live or lived out of state and I hadn't seen them in awhile so we had a nice little reunion.  I was really proud of myself  because I had to start the grill with a match and I didn't singe my hair or burn down the house. Jessica and I did a great job cooking up the hot dogs and hamburgers, Amy made a yummy dessert, and Jo made a great salad (at least that's what I am told since I don't really eat salad).  We had fun playing with all the little kiddies.  My friends all have the cutest kids and they are such great moms.  Although, they are definitely lacking in the Guitar Hero skills department.  I am proud of my friend Tiff cuz she finally passed a song now I just need to help Lori get there.  Thanks to everyone for coming we need to do it again soon!!! I bought a badminton set to play but we didn't have time so the next one we will have to for sure.  We played it a little tonight with my family and I am happy to say that me and Ryan beat everyone.  I think it helped though the fact that Jen couldn't serve the birdie over the net if her life depended on it.

Here is a picture of my friend Amy with her cute little girl Sydney.

Jodi and Heston (he didn't want to look at the camera that night).

Jess and Deagon.  Lori joked that Deagon looks more like Jess than her, I think I might agree.

The best 10 bucks I've spent in a long time!!!

Two weeks ago I got an email about STP tickets going on sale for 10 bucks if you bought them between that Sat and Sun.  I sent a message to my sister Heather to see if she was interested and she was down so she bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale the next day.  We weren't expecting much since the tickets were so cheap we were just hoping for something in lower bowl.  I called Heather to see where she got our seats and to my surprise she said we got 6th row on the floor.  I couldn't believe they still had seats that close available. She bought four tickets for me, Heather, her friend Nicole, and Scott.  I drove us down and we got there early so we were able to eat at the Training Table before the concert started.  The opening act was already playing when we arrived.  They're a local band called Royal Bliss.  I have heard of them before but didn't know many of their songs. They were pretty good, although no one else I was with was a fan.  We had some interesting people next to us as usual.  I think the winners for most annoying went to the two dudes in front of us.  One guy had a sparkly blue button up shirt on with dark brown dress pants and dress shoes.  I wish I would've got a pic of him but you will just have to visualize it yourself.  Him and his buddy kept doing the fist pump and giving each other double high fives all night long.  Luckily I remembered earplugs this time so I was able to tune most of it out.  Fortunately we were so close to the stage there wasn't too many distractions anyways.  They sang all of their hits and all looked the same as they did the last time they were together.  Scott Weiland was great I was very impressed.  He started out the night with this nice suit on but was shirtless by the end of the night.  If the concert would've went on any longer he might of been down to his skivvies. I was able to hear all of the songs perfectly even with the earplugs and my ears didn't ring at all after (unlike Kanye).  I think I'm going with the earplugs from now on.  Also I got a little camera crazy and took way too many pics and some video.  I posted some of the best ones for those of you who care.

                 Before STP went on

                   The evolution of Scott

I wasn't too sure about the bright orange streaks in his hair but he is a rocker so I guess he can get away with it!!!

Am I getting too old?

Or are the girls nowadays just getting skankier and skankier? I went to the the Kanye West concert last night with my friends Ashely and Natalie and it was ridiculous.  The night started off on a bad note when the concert got delayed for about 2 hours.  I guess one of the semi's that carries the stage set up was stuck in traffic in AZ and made it so our concert was late.  It wouldn't have been that bad if there were only two performers but since there were four acts it made for a long night.  Don't get me wrong it was a fun night and the acts were all great...just a lot of b.s for one night.  There were a bunch of skanky drunk girls in front of us that kept trying to pick fights with other skanky drunk girls.  They all looked too young to be drinking in the first place but I guess that's what fake I.D's are for.  At one point one of them tried to call on my friend Ashley just for looking in her direction.  This girl was so immature it was sad.  I know Ash could've taken her (even though she had the flu).  After putting up with all of the drama and throw-up (we still never figured out who the culprit was but we could sure smell it) Kanye finally came on at about 11:45.  I have never been to a concert that was that far behind, and I have definitely been to my fare share of concerts.  I know it's not Kanye's fault but it sure would've been nice if he would've apologized or even acted like he cared we were there.  He is a great performer and very talented person just a little too cocky.  I doubt Kanye will ever be back (especially cuz the place wasn't very full) so I am glad I did see him.  I just hope one day he will get over himself.  I did think Rihanna looked amazing and I was very impressed with Lupe Fiasco.  I always have a good time going to concerts with the Holt sisters.  We have been to a lot of good concerts and it's always a guaranteed good time.  Hopefully my concert tomorrow (Stone Temple Pilots) goes a little better than this one.  At least I will remember some earplugs this time cuz the E-center sound sucks and I could barely understand what anyone was singing.  Here is a picture of two of the girls that were in front of us. My only question is that really a dress or is it suppose to be a shirt?

On a positive note: I did become a fan of the guy that sings background on Lupe Fiasco's "Superstar" song.  His name is Matthew Santos and he is really cute and talented. Here are a few pics of him so you can see for yourself.  Unfortunately after googling his name to find some pictures to post it came to my attention he was just here last month!!! I guess he performed after the Ogden Marathon for only ten bucks......dang I'm sad I missed it.

The only reason I work.

Some of you may or may not of noticed I have been slacking on the blog posts lately.  The reason for this is I have been going out of town a lot lately (plus my new obsession with reading).  I went on a wonderful family vacation a couple of weeks ago to Vegas or Vegas Vegas as my nephew Justin calls it.  We had a nice carpool with me, my mom, Jen, Ryan, Ally, and Justin in the minivan and Heather, Jim, Erin, and Scott in the Pacifica.  The little kiddies were perfect angels considering how long they had to spend in the car.  I'm sure it helped that me and Justin had a DVD player in the back so we watched movies the whole time.  Once we got to Vegas we had two condos next to each other so we all had plenty of room which was nice.  The first day we went swimming all day and some of us got our first sunburn of the year.  It was fun to be in the hot sun all day and especially at night cuz it was still warm which was nice for a change.  We were able to eat at my brother's friends restaurant he works at Tera Rosa (or something like that). He hooked us up big time with a bunch of free appetizers and stuff.  The food was incredible I recommend it to anyone who goes to Vegas it's at the Red Rock Resort so it's a ways of the strip but still worth the drive. The next day we swam again and did some shopping.  Me and my mom and bro went to the shops at Planet Hollywood and when we got there a bunch of cameras were following around some people.  I asked someone who it was and he said it was Ludacris.  I was shocked because the guy was so short he looked like some teenager in a boy band or something.  I heard a commotion so I turned around and Tommy Lee was behind me with another camera crew.  I guess they are filming some reality t.v. show surprise surprise...who doesn't have a reality t.v. show nowadays.  It was kinda cool to see someone famous again that's 3 in one year, now if I can just find a way to meet Brad my life will be complete. ha ha.  Although I did hear on the news last night he is filming in Utah right now so my chances are increasing by the minute.  After shopping we had a nice Guitar Hero session which was fun because we have two guitars now.  Justin wanted to play so bad so we gave him a guitar and let him think he was playing when really I was the whole time.  He was so proud of himself because he passed a song it was really cute. On our way home we had to stop by In-N- Out Burger so we went by the new one in St. George.  It was so crazy the line to the drive thru was wrapped all the way around the building.  I don't eat hamburgers so I went next door to Del Taco, but I did enjoy my fries and shake from In N Out. Once I got back home I was already planning my next trip to go to Jackson Hole.  A bunch of friends had it all planned out to go last weekend but it sorta fell through so we went to Zion National Park instead.  I was excited because I have lived in Utah my whole life and have never been there.  We took a 15 passenger van there so it was only 22 bucks for gas and we had a sweet house to sleep in for our tent.  Everything worked out perfect to where I got to hike and spend time enjoying the beautiful outdoors and still get to sleep inside and have the comforts of home (like running water).  I would go camping a lot more if it was always like that.  Lets face it tents are not comfortable to sleep in.  The hike was pretty hard though.  Jodi looked up on their website after and it said it was the most strenuous one in the park and believe me my legs agree.  Once I made it to the top it was all worth it, but I was questioning why I decided to do it up until that point.  Later that night we had a campfire with two girls from Holland we met.  We had smores and hotdogs so we could at least sorta feel like we were camping.  Needless to say I love going on vacation and that is my sole motivation for work.  I guess bills should be on the list too but no one likes to work to pay bills.  Me and the girls are already trying to plan the next vacation though we are having a hard time deciding which adventure to take next.  Any suggestions??

I Had a Nice Quickie!!

Trip that is!! Me and my mom and brother went to California a week ago to watch my cousin Greg's boy Tristan get baptized.  It was very short trip.  We left on Saturday afternoon once I got off work and came home on Monday afternoon.  It was just long enough to visit with all of my family.  We had a nice Cuatro de Mayo celebration (since we left on Cinco de Mayo).  My uncle made his famous tacos and my aunt made an awesome chocolate cake.  And of course we were able to get in a movie and some shopping.  Anytime I get to go to Cali. I always have a good time.  I love the weather there and I love being able to spend time with my family.  I am so glad that Tristan decided to get baptized he is such a good kid and I am so proud of him.  Here are all of the pictures I took on the trip.  We talked my uncle and cousin Aimee into trying on my moms wig and got some pretty funny pictures.  My uncle didn't want to take it off....it was pretty hilarious.  He looks like he could be in Spinal Tap or something.  I noticed I was too busy taking pictures of other people to actually be in any of them!! I think there might be one of me in there but I don't think I am even looking at the camera.  Oh well I have enough pictures of myself already.  Me and the fam are headed to Vegas on Wednesday so I will make sure and get some more pics then.

Is it summer yet??

Here is a picture of my new haircut and color.

Here is the back view, it's the shortest my hair has ever been.

I am sick of the weather being cold and I am getting excited for some warm weather.  For this reason I decided to get a new summer look.  I am ready for the summer....now the weather just needs to start cooperating. Most of you know I really don't do anything too crazy with my hair, but I hadn't been blond for awhile and decided to go back.  People always say that blonds have more fun!! My hairdresser/friend Lori has slowly been coercing me to go shorter so I just went for it.  I think this is probably as short as I will go but you never know. It's probably not that short to most people but I am used to always being able to put my hair in a ponytail. Besides getting my hair done last week I also had the "opportunity" to help my mom babysit the grand kids.  They are definitely full of energy but are so entertaining. I was able to do some coloring and build some towers with them.  We also rested for a minute (that was all they were willing) and watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  They bring me such joy in my life and I am so lucky to have all of them live so close.  I can't wait for the summer so we can have our weekly swimming parties.  Erin is already wanting us to bring out the pool but I told her we had to wait until it gets a little warmer!! Me my mom and my brother are going to Cali for a quick trip next weekend.  My cousin Greg's son Tristan is getting baptized by Scott so we are going to support Tristan.  I will post some pics of the trip next week.   Hangin with Erin and Justin

Deal or No Deal??

This last weekend my mom and her friend decided to try out for Deal or No Deal.   At first I thought I was going to have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn and go get in line with her.  Thankfully at the last minute her best friend Vicki decided to go with her letting me off the hook!! It was my mom's bday that weekend so I volunteered to drop them off instead.  The weekend started out great I met my mom and Vicki at this really nice Italian restaurant called Lagonos.  We all got the same thing chicken ravioli and it was delish.  After dinner we went back to our hotel.  We stayed just a couple miles away from where they were doing the auditions so they could get there early and not have to spend the night there.  They woke up around 5 am and I dropped them off a little before 6.  When they got there not many people were ahead of them except for those that had slept in tents that night.  I guess there were four rounds to get through and my mom and Vicki made it to the 3rd round.  You were supposed to sell yourself in 20 seconds and if they liked you then you moved on.  My mom wanted to be on the show so bad she pulled her wig off 3 times to try and show the producers how much her and Howie have in common.  It wasn't a complete success but they both had fun so that's all that counts.  When I went to pick them up the line wrapped all the way around the block so I was glad they got there before the line was too long.  After the auditions me and my mom met my two sisters in Park City for lunch and some shopping. The next day everyone came over for cake and ice cream.  Happy Birthday mom I love you and I am so privileged to have such a wonderful mom.  You are such a great inspiration and great example to me.  I hope one day that I will be able to be half the mother you are!!
Here is my mom and her two little helpers blowing out her yummy birthday cake Jen made.

Take me out to the ball game!!

This week has been great because baseball season started on Monday.  I am very optimistic about my team the Yankees chances this year.  There is nothing better than knowing your favorite team has the best player ever.  He may not always play the best in the playoffs but I still wouldn't trade him for anyone.  I am especially excited because I am going to see them play this year in Anaheim.  Anytime I get to go to California is nice but getting to watch the Yankees and spend time with my family there will make it that much better. I had the privilege of going to two Yankees games last year and they were both awesome.  The first game we didn't have the best seats but we did get to watch the Yanks beat the Red Sox so it was worth it.  Watching A-Rod hit a home run and Mo coming in to save the game were just the cherry on top.  The second game we watched was against the Devil Rays.  I thought for sure this would be a win, but I was wrong.  The Yankees got spanked but we had really good seats for that game so I got some good pics.  If you haven't ever gone to a professional baseball game I highly recommend it.  There is no experience like it.  The fans are always entertaining even if the game is not.  I went to my first Yankees game in 2002 and it was against the Red Sox again but they lost that game.  The best part of the night was the subway ride there.  We were packed into the subway like sardines because most people going to the game rode the subway.  I was standing up holding onto a pole next to my sisters when all of a sudden I felt a hand on my butt.  Since it was so crowded I didn't think much of it.  I just rotated a little and figured the hand would be gone but it wasn't. The hand seemed to follow my every movement.  I looked at my mom who was sitting in front of me and the lady she was talking with pointed out that a guy next to me was grabbing my butt!! At this point I didn't know what to do.  I wasn't about to piss off a New Yorker so I just tried to move away from him, fortunately for me he got off at the next stop.  About five minutes later a guy came into our section and was drunk and rambling on about how he hated white people....I was really second guessing my trip to NY at this point.  To make matters worse they stopped the subway so the police could go from car to car in search of a murder suspect. Yikes!! Once we FINALLY arrived to the game it was a torrential down pour and the game was delayed for over an hour.  Because of the rain delay we were able to spend some quality time with fellow Yankee fans and harass the Red Sox fans.  Back then the Yankee fans were still able to chant 1918 (those were the days).  My first Yankee game experience was very memorable, but I hope make many more memories with each game I am able to attend.  Go Yankees!!!!!
(let's face it.....baseball butts are also a nice bonus especially when they belong to Derek Jeter and A-rod)

I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night!!!

As some as you know my family got a wii for Christmas.  I don't really play with it that much I mostly only play it when I have friends over.  That is until my mom bought Guitar Hero.  I know I am a little late (and maybe too old) to jump on the Guitar Hero band wagon, but it is my new addiction.  Some of my close friends and family members might have heard  me say how I would love to learn how to play the guitar someday so until that day.....the wii is gonna have to do.  I think it is pretty safe to say that the whole family has given in to the addiction. Heather really got into it tapping her foot and Jim struggled at times cuz he was trying to play it like a real guitar (if I only knew what that was like.)  I took a couple of pictures to prove it.

(Heather rocking out, Jim is a little confused, and Ryan is really enthused)
I recommend Guitar Hero to anyone who has some free time, but beware it may consume you!!  Besides playing Guitar Hero we also had a Easter egg hunt with Justin and Erin.  They both did a pretty good job at finding the eggs and enjoyed all of their presents.  Ally looked soooo cute in her dress and I give Jennifer major props on the hair bow that she made to match it.  Any day I get to spend time with my family and play with my niece and nephew is a good day, but jamming out on the wii made it all that much better!!!!  Now I just gotta get my mom to try it.

Run Forest Run!!

Today I decided to start exercising again.  Last weekend Jodi and I ran to her car after the movies because we were cold and I got a side ache!! If that's not a sign to start working out I don't know what is. The only problem with working out is I am lazy and I HATE it....especially running.  My hatred for running goes back to even my elementary days.  When I was in the 4th grade we were supposed to run a mile for the presidential physical fitness award.  I always dreaded the running part so this particular year Jessica and I figured out a way to get out of it.  The teachers would  track how many laps we had run by how many strips of construction paper we had....I think 4 strips was one mile or something.  As the class started their run around the track me and Jessica sneaked off and went up to the classrooms and cut ourselves 4 strips of paper.  We hung out until the other students started finishing.  Once the first couple of people were done we wormed our way back down to the track and crossed the finish line like we had been out there the whole time.  This was only the beginning of me lying my way out of running.  Flash forward to the winter of my seventh grade.  My soccer team was getting ready to play in a tournament in Tucson, AZ.  Because we live in Utah there wasn't really anywhere to run outside.  My coach's solution was to have us run inside of the Dee Event Center.  A couple times a week he would have us run laps.  By the second day I was sick of it....I mean I was the goalie anyways so why did I have to run? Instead of complaining to my coach me and my friend Ashly just decided to go into the basketball court and sit in the stands and talk.  This worked great for awhile we would sit for a little then pop out and run a couple feet and go back inside.  We almost got busted once by our coach but we quickly got up and made him think we were running stairs....yeah right.  Needless to say I still don't like running and I am trying to change that.  I took my first babysteps today by running on the treadmill.  After day one I ran/walked one whole mile in a little under 20 min. (pathetic I know).  I will keep you posted on my progress and if I am able to keep it up.  One of my eventual goals in life would to run a marathon because it would be a major challenge for me and I think it would build character.

Friends

                  1997 (I'm lovin the hair)

                                2008
(Me, Jess, Jodi, Ashly, Tiff, Lori, and Deagon)

So last weekend we had a girls night out at my friend Tiff's house.   A few of us decided to get together and catch up and relive the good ole days.  The days of prank calling, sleep overs, volleyball and Del Taco runs.  I had a ton of fun playing games and playing with the babies (Deagon and Heston are sooo cute). It got me thinking about how important it is to have friends in my life.  I have been fortunate to have many great friends to share my life with.  Whether I am going through good times or bad you guys have always been there for me and for that I am grateful.  I don't think most people can say they have had the same friends (plus or minus a few) since elementary....I truly am blessed.

I FINALLY did it!!

So I have been debating for a couple of weeks now on whether or not to start a blog.  I guess since you are now reading my blog you figured out my decision.  I was always reading other peoples blogs so now I guess I can use that time to write on my own.  Wish me luck!!
